Whether you’re looking for an inspiring morning routine, a meditative break or a way to unleash your creativity at the end of the day, follow our guide to discover your routine and create your own creative ritual.
WHY ADOPT A DAILY CREATIVE ROUTINE?
Following a creative routine relaxes you and stimulates your creativity
As a therapeutic tool, art has many benefits. Like meditation, having a creative routine is a great way to escape stress and build self-confidence.
In the same way that some people like to work out in the morning or exercise in the evening, concentrating on a creative activity releases tension while focusing your mind on an enjoyable task. Whether it’s when you wake up or after work, if you’re not a morning person, setting up “rituals” also boosts your productivity, ideas and creativity!
Creating every day improves your artistic practice
Unleash your creative energy! When you are creative, even for a short time every day, you will produce new, intuitive works and spark your artistic creativity.
You can learn to produce beautiful watercolours or artistic drawings!! By devoting 15 minutes of your day to being creative or drawing, you’ll improve both your mark-making and your inspiration. And for those days when creativity isn’t on the agenda, immerse yourself in an inspiring book or take a stroll through a museum.

WHAT’S YOUR IDEAL CREATIVE ROUTINE?
Do you enjoy meditation? Start colouring!
Do you like colouring and colours? Colouring is a skilful blend of artistic practice and mental relaxation that falls somewhere between art and meditation. Relax and, using felt-tip pens or coloured pencils, take the time to blend hues on the paper. And to make the moment even more special, turn to a colouring book with motifs you find inspirational!
🖍️ The Caran d’Ache coloured pencil range offers an incomparable palette of shades that lend themselves particularly well to personal expression. The variety of leads, from the hardest for fine details to the softest for broad strokes of colour, will help you refine your style.
Do you like to concentrate intently on a task? Sketching, designing and drawing!
Does your sketchbook go everywhere with you? Take the time to draw what’s around you when you first wake up or in the middle of the day. A landscape, people walking past a café, a cat strolling down the street - whip out your graphite pencils and sketch and draw whatever inspires you.

OUR TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR CREATIVE ROUTINE 🗒️
Have you found the creative ritual that inspires you? Now, all you have to do is get started. Here are a few tips to help you develop your creative routine:
• Dedicate a space to your creative routine. This can help put you in the right frame of mind to be creative in this space. Go to this place every day, and decorate it with objects that inspire you.
• Practice your ritual at a fixed time. For example, create a 30-minute morning routine or devote 15 minutes to your creative routine in the evening before going to bed. In the morning, while you’re having your coffee, during your lunch break or in the evening, before a meditation session, set aside a specific hour for your routine so that you can make an appointment with yourself.
• Do a creative “warm-up”. Like a musician practicing scales, doing creativity exercises as soon as you wake up can prepare your mind to think in inspiring ways.
• Don’t put pressure on yourself. Sometimes, you may fill pages, and sometimes, you may lack ideas and creativity. That’s normal. Let your feelings and your inspiration be your guide. Your creative routine should become a pleasant habit, not a punishment.
• Get inspired. Exposure to new experiences, ideas, and other people’s work can stimulate your creativity. Practice, or try the Creative Class by Caran d’Ache to improve your skills!
