Varius™ Edelweiss, a tribute to the Alpine flower

Caran d’Ache invites you on a journey to the heart of the Swiss Alps with the creation of a beechwood instrument in the effigy of the emblematic mountain flower: the edelweiss.

Varius™ Edelweiss is a timeless creation intended for fans of Alpine art. The Swiss national flower, the emblem of Alpine guides and a protected plant since 1879, the little edelweiss embodies an entire part of Swiss cultural imagination, associated with numerous customs and legends, making this Caran d’Ache Limited Edition an icon of the Varius range.

The Varius™ Edelweiss Limited Edition is available in three writing modes: ballpoint pen, roller pen and fountain pen. It is limited to 1,784 pieces – a tip of the hat to the date on which the name “edelweiss” came into being – and is engraved with the number “1 in 1784”.

Varius™ Edeleweiss Limited Edition
1. The latest addition to the Varius™ collection, Edelweiss embodies the art of noble materials and high technicity. With a body made from Swiss beechwood engraved on two levels, it delicately and authentically reveals the plant’s leaves. Noble (edel) and white (weiß), the edelweiss twines around the instrument, standing out in lacquer as white as snow applied by hand by the Caran d'Ache's master craftsmen. Amongst the leaves, the flower heads are represented by seven golden studs. This Limited Edition is capped off with a lacquered white button boasting a silver-plated, rhodium-coated finish, lending it refined look that lasts over time.
