CARAN D’ACHE + SWITZERLAND FOR UNHCR: A COLOURFUL FUTURE FOR EDUCATION
For their Colourful Days initiative, Caran d’Ache is partnering up with Switzerland for UNHCR. This year, Caran d’Ache will be raising funds to support UNHCR’s new education program, Primary Impact, which is dedicated to enabling access to primary education for refugee children.
COLOURFUL DAYS
Since 2022, during the Colourful Days, Caran d’Ache partners up with an association to brighten lives through artistic expression. By working with associations, Caran d’Ache can give back a little bit to help make a difference. This year Caran d’Ache is partnering up with UNHCR to support their Primary Impact program which creates secure and equitable access to education for girls.
Education has always been at the heart of Caran d’Ache’s activities as well has part of our values since the beginning. Transmitting our heritage and passion is a true vocation: whether it is about sharing with our young artisans, encouraging continuous training, or promoting the writing and visual arts through our creative workshops. This is why, supporting the UNHCR program is important for us.
Caran d’Ache is committed to donating 20% of the total sales generated during the Colourful Days 2024 from November 25 to December 2 to support the Primary Impact program for girls' education.
UNHCR EDUCATION PROGRAM “Primary Impact”
Around half of the world’s refugee children are not in school, severely impacting the global community’s pledge to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all by 2030. The aim of UNHCR’s new education program “Primary Impact” is to enroll and keep refugee children in school in the 26 countries where it will be implemented. It focuses on facilitating the integration of refugee children into the local education system and community to enable a sustainable and brighter future. Unfortunately, girls in these communities often face inequities and cultural challenges making education seem like an unreachable dream. At Caran d’Ache, we value education and are committed to supporting unprivileged communities. Therefore, through the Colourful Days Initiative, we aim to raise funds for UNHCR’s Primary Impact project with a stronger emphasis on girls’ education. The donation achieves the following impacts:
• Providing financial assistance (school fees, transportation, etc)
• Equipping girls with essential school materials
• Facilitating extracurricular activities
• Facilitating the construction and rehabilitation of schools
